The pleats face towards the centre rather than a traditional knife pleated kilt where they all face the same way. This makes the kilt move slightly differently to a regular kilt.
This kilt will be Hand Stitched to your measurements. With the Kinguissie we still put the shaping into the back so it sits the same as the regular knife pleated kilt.
This can be made in medium weight or heavyweight tartan. If you can’t see your tartan here please contact support@scotclans and we can see if we can source it.
Your handmade kilt will come with matching flashes.
Taking your measurements
Measurements are quite simple to take and we will check them over before making your kilt.
You will need someone else to measure you. Stand straight looking forward while they take your measurements.
Kilt Waist: This is taken around the ‘natural waist’. This needs to be quite a tight measurement, the natural waist is usually around the level of the belly button.
Kilt Seat: This is a loose measurement taken around the widest part – so usually the widest part of the bottom. The tape measure needs to be quite loose for this – a good idea is to keep 3 fingers inside the tape measure.
Kilt Length: Still standing straight, looking forward measure from 1 inch above the natural waist (so belly button level) straight down to either the top of the knee or the middle of the knee depending on your preference. Bending the knee slightly can reveal where the middle of the knee is.

Returns
We do not control the inventory in our factory and warehouse. The stock levels may fluctuate at any given time. Please be aware it's possible your order may run out of stocks after you place the order.
The policy is for 30 days. If it's been more than 30 days since you purchased your item We're sorry to say that we can't offer you a complete exchange or refund.
In order to be eligible for a refund your product must be unopened and in the same condition as you received it in. It should also be in the original packaging.
